Upgrade Petzl Mega to LED
Problem:
You've got an old Petzl Megabelt, and you're still using an old style filament bulb. The bulbs wear out frequently, the batteries burn out fast and the bulb gets dim as the battery gets weak. And if you're using a Halogen bulb, sure its bright, but the batteries go that much faster. With the belt clip, you can use heavy C cells, but your belt clip has those flip-up adapters that are just calling out for lighter AA batteries.
And you really want a new LED headlamp.

Solution:
Good news, all you need is an LED replacement bulb. Sure, you could spend money on a new headlamp, but wouldn't that money be better spent on some other gear? Plus, the Megabelt has some real advantages. Let's face it, you'll still want a light LED headlamp for some trips, but for trips that call out for a wide beam, long lasting battery life, often in extreme cold, the Megabelt upgraded to an LED bulb may be just want you need.
- It's lighter where it counts. with the batteries in the belt clip, the headlamp is really light. No need for the heavy battery pack on the back of your head, or a heavy front lamp with the batteries up front.
- More power with either AA or C cell. OK, so you'll never really need the C cells anymore, but with three AA's running your headlamp, the AT will thank you.
- Bigger headlamp - so the beam goes farther
- Warm batteries. with the belt clip under your coat, you'll have no problem with cold batteries in the extreme cold.
I've got one of these for my Petzl mega belt. Now you can too. Find the bulb here at Amazon:
